Restaurant: Casa Figueroa
Restaurant: Casa Figueroa
To kick the summer off right, my mom and I decided to go for a light dinner and drinks at a place that I have been dying to try for ages. We weren't looking for a long sit down dinner, just somewhere fun to share appetizers and talk and catch up. I know that Casa Figueroa is absolutely the place to have a long sit down dinner full of amazing entrees, but in my opinion there is just as much atmosphere and enjoyment from sitting in the basement bar and taking in the eclectic scenery while enjoying chips and a refreshing drink and enjoying each other's company.
Drink: Sangria
Food: Salsa Mexicana, Casadilla with Roasted Veggies
Cost: $21 + tip
Thoughts: The sangria was great but I definitely wish I had ordered a margarita. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere in the basement bar was great. They have fun seating and decorations and the bartender was attentive and kind. The wait for a table upstairs was 45-60 minutes but we were seated and had finished our dinner by the time a table would have been ready! The chips and salsa were amazing and the free chip refills kept us full as we also nibbled on a quesadilla. The white cheese and roasted vegetables made a tasty and delicious meal. This was enough food to feed two of us so it wasn't too pricy. However, as you start to get into the main menu, individual tacos at $7 or $8 a piece can get a little expensive.
